Organizado por la Liga Islámica Mundial y la Organización Islámica para América Latina y el Caribe y desde el 30 de octubre al 1º de noviembre, se llevó a cabo el Congreso Internacional "América Latina y el Mundo Islámico - Civilización y Cultura".

Discurso del Vicepresidente de la Nación Argentina, Daniel O. Scioli

El acto de apertura se realizó en el Hotel Sheraton, Ciudad de Buenos Aires, con la presencia del Vicepresidente de la Nación Argentina, Don Daniel Scioli, los titulares de la Secretaría y Subsecretaría de Culto de la Nación, Embajadores Guillermo Oliveri y Osvaldo Alejandro Grossman, el Presidente de la Comisión de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto de la Honorable Cámara de Diputados de la Nación Argentina Diputado Jorge Arguello, embajadores de los países árabes y/o islámicos acreditados en la República Argentina, funcionarios nacionales, provinciales y municipales, representantes de las distintas confesiones religiosas, académicos y numeroso público.

Concluyó con una recepción y exposición de literatura y CDRom islámicos, realizados por la Oficina de Cultura y Difusión Islámica de Argentina y la Organización Islámica para A Latina y el Caribe. Las deliberaciones y demás actividades, con acceso libre para todos los interesados, se llevaron a cabo en las instalaciones del Centro Cultural "Custodio de las Dos Sagradas Mezquitas Rey Fahd", de Buenos Aires.

Como objetivo fundamental del mencionado evento, se creó el ambiente necesario para establecer las bases de un férreo diálogo interreligioso, y hacer conocer, al mundo en general y a América Latina y el Caribe en particular, el verdadero Islam (Revelado por Dios, como última religión monoteísta) que ha convivido, a través de los siglos, con todas las culturas y civilizaciones y ha aportado su conocimiento en todos los ordenes de la vida: ciencia, tecnología, matemática, física, medicina, etc., además, considerando la cantidad de musulmanes nativos latinoamericanos, se recalcó la suma importancia de mantener una fluida y respetuosa relación con las autoridades gubernamentales de sus respectivos países ya que, a su vez, deben ser dignos ciudadanos de los mismos.
En el mismo se abordaron temas como:
Ejemplos de distorsiones sobre el Islam: Terrorismo, Fundamentalismo, etc.
Los Derechos Humanos en el Islam (Revelados por Dios, en el Sagrado Corán, hace 1427 años).
Las minorías islámicas en América Latina y el Caribe, historia e inmigración.
El aporte de los árabes y de los musulmanes en el desarrollo de América Latina y el Caribe.
Las relaciones con todos los gobiernos de América Latina y el Caribe.
El Islam y las relaciones internacionales.
El Islam y las relaciones humanas entre las personas y la sociedad.
El dialogo entre Civilizaciones y sus bases en el Islam.
El rechazo al enfrentamiento y el llamado a la convivencia.
El tratamiento de la prensa y la actualidad Islámica en América Latina y el Caribe.

Se contó con la presencia y participación especial del Secretario General de la Liga Islámica Mundial (la mayor estructura islámica no gubernamental en el mundo) Dr. Abdullah Ibn Abdul Mohsin Al-Turky (Ex Ministro de Culto del Reino de Arabia Saudita y ex Decano de la Universidad Ibn Saud de Riyadh, Presidente de las Universidades Islámicas y una de las personalidades más relevantes del Islam en el mundo actual) que, con su comitiva, desde la Ciudad de La Meca (Arabia Saudita) vino a tal fin.

Como organizador local, el anfitrión fue el Secretario General de la Organización Islámica para América Latina y el Caribe y Representante de la Liga Islámica Mundial en América Latina y el Caribe, Arquitecto Muhammad Yusuf Hallar, cuyas entidades tienen su sede en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Capital Federal de la República Argentina.
Además, entre quienes presentaron sus ponencias y/o participaron de las deliberaciones, se pueden mencionar el Presidente de las Universidades y Decano de la Universidad R. Palma (Lima - Perú); el Director de Justicia y Culto del Ministerio de Justicia de Carácas, Venezuela, el Director para África y Medio Oriente de la Universidad de Costa Rica; el Director del Instituto de Ciencias y Conocimientos Islámicos (Madrid - España); el Director de El Corresponsal y Asesor de la Secretaría de Cultos de la República Argentina; el representante de la Liga Mundial Islámica para América Latina y el Caribe; el ex embajador de la Liga de los Estados Árabes en Argentina; el Director de Estudios Islámicos (Orange - California - EEUU); el Director del Diario Okkaz (de Arabia Saudita) académicos provenientes de Egipto, Jordania y de Arabia Saudita. Finalmente, el Dr. Abdullah Ibn Abdul Mohsin Al-Turky, los conferencistas y participantes del mencionado Congreso Islámico Internacional, fueron recibidos y agasajados por el Ministro de Relaciones Exteriores, Comercio Internacional y Culto de la República Argentina, en el Palacio San Martín, sede de la Cancillería Argentina.

Organized by the Muslim World League and the Islamic Organization for Latin America and the Caribbean, “ The International Congress Latin America and the Islamic World: Civilization and Culture” took place in the City of Buenos Aires, from 30th. October to 1st November, 2006.

Exposición de los trabajos realizados por la Organización Islámica para América Latina y el Caribe

The inaugural session was held at Sheraton Hotel (this hotel is located at the traditional neighbourhood of “Retiro”, downtown the city of Buenos Aires). The event was officially open by the Vice President of the Nation, Mr. Daniel O. Scioli, and personalities such as Ambassador Guillermo Olivieri, Secretary of Worship of the Nation, Osvaldo Alejandro Grossman, undersecretary of Worship, the President of the Commission for Foreign Affairs and Cults of the H. Chamber of Deputies, Diputy Jorge Arguello as well as Ambassadors of the Arab Countries and Islamic countries credited before the Argentine Government attended the event. Apart from the mentioned personalities, other government officers, town hall officers and representatives of the various religious faiths were present at the event, apart from scholars and public in general.

At the end of the inauguration, there was a reception and an exhibition of Islamic literature and multimedia C.D.Rom in Spanish made by the Islamic Organization for Latin America and the Caribbean. After that, all deliberations, lectures and debates were held –with free access for any interested person- at the Islamic Cultural Centre “Custody of the two Sacred Mosques, King Fahd” sited at Palermo neighbourhood of the city of Buenos Aires.

The principal goal of the Congress was to establish bases to create a strong inter-religious dialogue, specially with Jews and Christians, and to make the world in general and Latin America and the Caribbean in particular know the true Islam (revealed by God as the last monotheist religion) that has coexisted through the centuries with every culture and civilization, and contributed through its knowledge in every issue, science, technology, mathematics, physics, medicine, and so on. Moreover, considering the amount of native Latin American Muslims, it was highlighted the great importance of maintaining a fluid and respectful relation with governmental authorities of their respective countries as at the same time they should be honourable citizens of their countries. During the meetings, such issues as the following were discussed:
“Examples of distortion in Islam: Terrorism and fundamentalism”; Human Rights in the Islam (revealed by God in the Holy Coram 1427 years ago);
Islamic minorities in Latin America and the Caribbean, history and immigration;
The contribution of the Arab and Muslim people to the development of Latin America and the Caribbean;
Relations with all the Latin American and the Caribbean governments;
The Islam and the International Relations;
The Islam and Human Relations between people and society; Dialogue between civilizations and its bases in Islam;
The refusal to confrontation and a call to coexistence; Mass media and current affairs in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Secretary General of the Muslim World League (largest non governmental Islamic structure in the world) Dr. Abdullah Ibn Abdul Mohsin Al-Turky (ex Minister of Cult for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and ex Dean of the Ibn Saud University at Riyadh, President of the Islamic Universities and one of the most relevant personalities in the Islamic world nowadays, came to Buenos Aires from Holy Makka in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to be present and contribute, together with collaborators, to this International Congress.

The local organizer and host was the Secretary General of the Islamic Organization for Latin America and the Caribbean, and Representative for the Muslim World League in Latin America and the Caribbean, Architect Muhammad Yusuf Hallar, and the said entities are located at the city of Buenos Aires, capital of the Republic of Argentina.
Among those who were lecturers, it is worth mentioning the President of the Universities and Dean of the R. Palma University of Lima, Peru; the director for Africa and the Middle East of the University of Costa Rica; the Director General of worship in the Ministry of the Republic of Venezuela, Director of the Institute for Science and Islamic Knowledge in Madrid; the director of “El Corresponsal” and advisor of the Secretary of Worship of the Republic of Argentina, the Representative of the Muslim World League for Latin America and the Caribbean; the ex-Ambassador for the Arab League in Argentina, the director of Islamic Studies, Orange, California, USA; the Director of the Okkaz newspaper (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia); and scholars from Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Finally, Dr. Abdullah Ibn Abdul Mohsin Al-Turky and the rest f the lecturers and participants of the International Islamic Congress were received and honoured at the Ministry of Foreign Affaire, International Commerce and Worship of the Argentine Republic at San Martin Palace, site of the Argentine Chancery.
